Description
Spangenhelm type helmet made of iron with brass crossbands. Leather neck guard with brass scales. The auxiliary archers represented on Trajan’s Column, probably of Syrian or Near-East origin, are equipped with conical helmets with cross reinforcements and neck guard. Similar helmets are also worn by the legionaries represented on the Adamklissi grave stele (Romania).
