Description

This is the first model of the Weisenau types that has been developed for more than 200 years up to the ‘Niedermörmter’ type. It is dated at the end of the first century BC – beginning 1st century CE, (Augustus period) on the basis of the pottery found together with the find, near Nijmegen (The Netherlands) It is characterized by the ‘eyebrows’ embossed on the front of the cap, typical of all subsequent models of this type and openings for the ears, without additional protruding protections.
Also referred to as Weisenau – Nijmegen. End of the 1st century to. C. – beginning I century A.D
